Head of School - Copplestone Primary School

Full-Time - Permanent - Salary L6 - L9

The Devon Moors Federation is an eight-school federation. It consists of Clyst Hydon, Copplestone, Filleigh, Kilmington, Lympstone, Shute, Spreyton and Upottery Primary Schools. We are also part of the United Schools Learning Partnership Co-Operative Trust.

Copplestone Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and caring Head of School, who will lead and inspire our wonderful team of staff and children into the future.   

This exciting opportunity has arisen as the current post holder will be moving to be the Executive Head of the Federation in September 2025

The Devon Moors Federation is a well-established and maintained Federation which was formed several years ago and has recently grown to eight schools. Copplestone School has seven single-age classes and a thriving pre-school and is located in a semi-rural location with good transport links.

Our Head of School will:

  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner - this post has some teaching commitment.
  • Have a clear understanding of school improvement and be able to lead other staff in delivering this. 
  • Have a vision for the school and be able to communicate this with all stakeholders. 
  • Be passionate about developing links with our community.
  • Nurture a positive and inclusive school culture, where everyone can succeed. 
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude, energy and a sense of humour.   
  • Work closely with the other Heads of School, Executive Head and Governing Board to deliver the vision of the Devon Moors Federation.
  • Prioritise safeguarding in all aspects of school life.

After School Club Co-ordinator - Copplestone Primary School

Grade C £12.85 to £13.26 p/h depending on experience

The Devon Moors Federation is an eight-school federation. It consists of Clyst Hydon, Copplestone, Filleigh, Kilmington, Lympstone, Shute, Spreyton & Upottery Primary Schools. We are also part of the United Schools Learning Partnership Co-Operative Trust, which we joined in February 2018.

We are seeking an After School Club Leader to run the club at Copplestone Primary School, ideally from the week commencing Wednesday 23rd April 2025

This is a permanent position and the successful candidate will be responsible for running the after-school club every Wednesday for 2 hours and 10 minutes, during term time. The club runs from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. 

You will follow a timetable of activities agreed with the Head of School and will be responsible for setting up and packing away before and after the club. You will be motivated, enthusiastic and able to communicate well with children and parents. The school has extensive outdoor play areas and an indoor space for the club, and the parents are very supportive of this provision.

A qualification in paediatric first aid is desirable but not essential as the relevant training will be provided if necessary.
